Lenovo has announced updates to its ThinkPad line of laptops, and they’re adding quite a bit of power and battery life. The laptops are getting Intel’s 10th-gen Comet Lake mobile processors, which could be quite exciting for anyone in the market for a new high-end device.

X1 Carbon and X1 Yoga

The X1 Carbon and X1 Yoga feature 10th-generation Comet Lake six-core Core i7-10710U processors. Those processors offer faster clock speeds than the previous versions, and any bit of power you can squeeze out of a high-end laptop is a good thing.

What really makes these two high-end laptops stand out is the battery life—Lenovo says they’ll manage to get up to 18 hours of juice on a single charge, which is quite crazy.

The new laptops are available with several screen options with brightnesses ranging from 300-nit to 500-nit. There are 1080p and UHD version available as well.

There are some pretty cool security features on the X1 Carbon and X1 Yoga as well. Like most business laptops, there’s a fingerprint reader, an IR camera, and a shutter that’ll block the webcam.

Each of the high-end laptops is tiny, with the Carbon weighing in at 2.4 pounds and the Yoga tipping the scales at a slightly heavier 2.9 pounds. The X1 Carbon is only 14.9mm thin, while the thicker convertible Yoga is 15.5mm.

For connectivity, the Carbon features Wi-Fi 6 and Global LTE-A Wireless, which is the latest available internet technology. The Yoga has the LTE but doesn’t include the Wi-Fi 6 option.

Here are some other cool features of the laptops:

  • Dolby Atmos Speaker System
  • Far-field microphones
  • Rapid Charge delivers 80-percent battery in 60 minutes

X1 Carbon and X1 Yoga Price and Availability

Both the X1 Carbon and X1 Yoga will be available in September. The Carbon will start at $1,479, and go up from there based on the configuration. For the X1 Yoga, the price starts at $1,609.
