Apple TV+ Will Be Available on Chromecast With Google TV in 2021

If you’ve been missing Apple TV+ from your Chromecast with Google TV, you’re in luck. The streaming service will be available early next year for devices powered by Android TV OS.

Apple TV+ Is Coming to Chromecast

As announced on The Keyword, the Apple TV app will be coming to the new Chromecast with Google TV from early 2021.

It follows the news that Apple Music is now available on Google smart speakers and displays, marking further unity between Apple and Google’s systems.

With the Apple TV app, it means you will be able to stream Apple TV+ content from your Chromecast directly. You will also be able to access any purchases that you’ve made from Apple.

According to Google, this makes the Chromecast with Google TV one of the few streaming devices with all the major video subscription services.

Other Chromecast devices “powered by Android TV OS” will receive Apple TV in the future, but no specifics beyond that were given. It’s not clear if this refers to yet-to-be-released Chromecasts, or existing devices that haven’t yet been updated to Android TV OS.

Should You Buy Chromecast With Google TV?

With a decent price, a Google Assistant-powered remote, 4K support, and now Apple TV+, a Chromecast with Google TV is a great purchase if you’re looking to power your TV with great streaming content.
