Tinder and Lyft have announced a partnership that will allow Tinder members to gift their dates a Lyft ride directly through the Tinder app.

You’ve just had a great Tinder date and want to treat your match to a ride home. Or perhaps the date isn’t going so well and you want them out of your hair.
Whatever the case, Tinder plans to make it easier to gift your date a taxi thanks to integration with Lyft.
As announced on the Tinder Newsroom, in the coming months the ability to book a Lyft journey through Tinder will become available. This will also include all the standard Lyft safety features, like being able to share your location with others and silently request assistance.
It’s unclear exactly what the benefit will be to booking a ride through Tinder, rather than switching to the Lyft app itself, though the Tinder press release comments that “exclusive perks may also be available”.
Although much of the world is in a COVID-19 lockdown, Tinder hopes this new Lyft gifting feature will be available for daters to take advantage of when things open up.
According to David Wyler, SVP of Business Development and Partnerships at Tinder, “there really is no better moment for [Tinder and Lyft] to work together”.
