13 kids’ movies and shows that are new on Netflix Canada in September 2020

Netflix Canada has announced which new TV shows and movies it will be adding to its lineup next month, and of course that means, more options for kids! There’s a handful of titles to look forward to in September, including great picks for kids like Bookmarks: Celebrating Black Voices, a new season of Chico Bon Bon: Monkey with a Tool Belt and a new piece of interactive content set in the world of Boss Baby! Check out the full lineup with specific release dates below.

But first, an important note: The age recommendations offered below are approximate. Every kid is different, and you’re the best judge of what’s appropriate and what your kid can handle.

Bookmarks: Celebrating Black Voices

Best for: 4+
Bookmarks: Celebrating Black Voices is a live-action collection of twelve five minute episodes featuring prominent Black celebrities and artists reading children’s books from Black authors that highlight the Black experience. Hosted by Marley Dias (author and founder of #1000BlackGirlBooks campaign), the collection of books and conversations center around themes of identity, respect, justice, and action — providing families a toolset to start meaningful conversations with kids about difficult topics through short-form book-based content. Available September 1

The Boss Baby: Get That Baby!

Best for: 5+
In this interactive special, you’ll find your calling at Baby Corp by making choices and carrying out missions as part of a virtual aptitude test. Available September 1

School of Rock

Best for: 10+
After being kicked out of his rock band, Dewey Finn becomes a substitute teacher of an uptight elementary private school, only to try and turn his class into a rock band. Available September 1
