Apple Reveals the Apple Watch Series 6 at Time Flies | MakeUseOf

Recently, Apple announced its “Time Flies” event, which hinted at a potential new Apple Watch reveal. Now, Apple has lifted the curtain on its new product: the Apple Watch Series 6.

First off, the Apple Watch Series 6 will feature blood oxygen level detection. This feature shines red and infrared light onto your wrist and records what’s reflected back.

From this data, the Apple Watch can then measure how much oxygen is in your blood, which is important to see if your heart and lungs are working well. It can take a measurement in 15 seconds and can be done in the background, such as when you sleep.

The watch also features an altimeter to show you how high you are during a hike. When you need to take a peek at how you’re doing, the watch uses a bright display so you can clearly see your metrics during sunny days.

The watch also features the “Solo Loop.” This is a wrist strap that has no clasp, buckle, or overlapping parts, and is made of silicone. It’s durable and swim-proof, and also comes in a braided version made of 100% recycled yarn.

The Apple Watch Series 6 also features Family Setup. This lets you use an iPhone to pair up with other family member’s watches. From your phone, you can then keep track of everyone, from restricting who can talk to your children to tracking their location.

Also, the new watch will not have a USB adapter or plug on it. Apple claims that this helps reduce the carbon footprint of the Series 6.

The Apple Watch Series 6 is available to preorder today and becomes available on September 18. The Apple Watch Series 6 will cost $399.

Apple will also release a slightly reduced version of the watch, called the Apple Watch SE. This will cost $279 and will have a slightly weaker processor, but maintains the big screen size.

The Apple Watch aims to bridge the gap between the traditional watch and the smartphone, and the Series 6 comes with some interesting new health-related features. Only time will tell if Apple’s new watch will win over those who want to monitor their health while on the go.

The Apple Watch is much more than just a flashy watch face. There are plenty of little tips and tricks you can do with an Apple Watch, which helps personalize it to your liking.
