Outside of Samsung and Google, one of the most exciting Android device makers is OnePlus. As such, everything the company does brings lots of excitement to its fans.
With that in mind, we’re thrilled to hear about the OnePlus 8T in a new leak from Android Central.
So far, things have been fairly quiet on the device, but after this new leak, we’ve learned all sorts of important details that make this look like a phone you need to keep on your radar.
The first thing we learned about the OnePlus 8T is that it’ll have a 6.55-inch 120Hz display. This brings it in line with other high-end phones such as the OnePlus 8 Pro. The screen size is also the same as the regular OnePlus 8, so that falls in line with what we’d expect for the incremental upgrade that OnePlus typically does with its “T” models.
The specs of the device have also leaked. It’s rumored to have a Snapdragon 865+ processor and 8GB of RAM with 128GB of internal storage. That power will support OxygenOS 11 (which is based on Android 11).
We also learned all sorts of information about the cameras. The device is rumored to have a four-lens camera set up.
It will feature a 48MP primary camera, a 16MP wide-angle lens, a 5MP macro shooter, and a 2MP portrait camera. The original OnePlus 8 also features a 48MP primary camera, but the new one is slated to have newer imaging sensors that will improve the quality of photos.
According to the leak, the OnePlus 8T is slated to be announced by the end of September or in early October, at the latest. Based on when OnePlus announced the OnePlus 7T, that lines up perfectly.
We don’t know when the phone will hit the market. However, the OnePlus 7T launched in mid-October, which was about two weeks after it was announced. If the company announces the phone by the end of September, it’s quite possible that the OnePlus 8T will also be launched in mid-October of this year.
