It was only recently that Microsoft Edge received a web clipper tool, and Microsoft is already raising the bar again. A webpage capture tool appeared on Edge Canary that lets you snap huge screenshots with ease.
How the New Screenshot Feature for Windows Edge Works
The new feature is currently only available on Edge Canary, which receives updates every day. It’s an excellent way to peek at what Microsoft has planned for the browser and try out new features as they appear.
Edge Canary received an update that lets you take a screenshot of a webpage. To activate it, you press CTRL+ SHIFT + S, then drag an area to capture. When you reach the bottom of the window, Edge will automatically scroll down so you can grab more.
It appears that, at the moment, the screen capture tool has a height limit of 3285 pixels. However, that should be enough to capture as much of a webpage as you need.
Much like the Web Clipper tool, this scrolling screen capture feature is also built directly into Edge. That means you should have access to it regardless of where you are, from library PCs to a friend’s browser.
Because Microsoft made Edge a core part of Windows 10, you’ll always have access to it, even if it also made Edge much harder to uninstall.
Another Great Feature for Microsoft Edge
Microsoft’s new Chromium Edge browser is one of the best the company has released in years. Even then, Microsoft continues to update it with handy features and tools, so who knows what the company has in store for the future?
