OnePlus 8T Launch Event Set for October 14 | MakeUseOf

Sometimes, device manufacturers are able to keep their upcoming phones a secret until it’s time to announce them. OnePlus has had no such luck with the OnePlus 8T. Leak after leak has revealed just about every detail of the phone.

The only detail we were missing was the release date, and according to a post on the OnePlus forums, the company is going to officially announce the phone on October 14. There will be no more rumors, as we’ll finally learn everything there is to know about the upcoming smartphone.

OnePlus said that the event will take place on October 14 at 10:00AM EDT.

That means it’ll take place at 3PM BST, 4PM CEST, or 7:30PM IST. Regardless of where you live, the company wants you to be there to see what it has coming in the near future.

Fortunately, the company also announced that everyone will be able to watch the event through the company’s website, so if you’re curious about what the OnePlus 8T brings to the table, you can be there live to take in the announcement.

OnePlus hasn’t said much about the upcoming phone so far. In the release announcing this event, the company did say the following:

“With the upcoming OnePlus 8T, we are once again raising the bar for ourselves in terms of the overall user experience, thanks to some new features that we are excited to introduce for the first time in a OnePlus device. I am confident that the OnePlus 8T will once again exceed expectations and deliver an unparalleled flagship experience.”

Outside of that, plenty of specs have leaked, though we can’t know for sure if they’re legitimate until the phone is official.

According to the leaks, the phone will feature a 6.55-inch 120Hz display, a quad camera setup with 48MP, 16MP, 5MP, and 2MP lenses. The leaks also report that it’ll feature 65W charging, which is always nice to have on a flagship device.

Finally, the leaks suggest that the phone will have a Snapdragon 865+ processor and 8GB of RAM with 128GB of internal storage.
