Google Changes G Suite to Google Workspace, Improves User Experience

G Suite was one of the most useful collections of tools for getting work done online. But now, Google is shaking things up by changing the name of G Suite to Google Workspace.

Not only is Google changing the name of its suite of tools, but it’s also bringing forth a more unified user experience.

Google Introduces Google Workspace

Google announced the Google Workspace on The Keyword and the Google Cloud Blog. The company describes Google Workspace as “everything you need to get anything done, now in one place.”

The newly-named service will include all of the apps you’re already accustomed to using. There’s Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Meet, and Chat. The company says the services are more thoughtfully connected through Google Workspace than with G Suite.

Google has added features such as the ability to create and collaborate on a document within a room, an option to see people in a meeting while you’re collaborating with Meet picture-in-picture, the ability to preview a linked file without having to open a new tab, and lots more.

If you’re a G Suite user, the transition should be seamless and painless.

When Will Google Workspace Be Available?

Google says that its new unified workspace is available to business customers now. And the company has announced that it will make it available to consumers in the coming months.
