LG has announced a new mid-range smartphone called the LG K92 5G. As the name implies, the phone features 5G connectivity, but it also comes with some pretty solid specs for the reasonable $359 price.
The phone will launch in the US on three major carriers, so if you’re interested in snagging LG’s latest mid-range smartphone, you won’t have any issue finding one.
What Does the LG K92 5G Bring to the Table?
As far as 5G smartphones go, this is one of the more affordable models you’ll find. Tipping the price scales at $359, it falls just a bit under the Verizon-exclusive TCL 10 5G UW, which retails for $399. For a 5G phone, you’ll have a hard time finding a cheaper one than the new LG K92.
LG announced the phone in a press release: “LG Electronics USA today announced the upcoming US availability of the LG K92 5G, a value-priced smartphone that’s loaded with many features customarily available only on today’s higher-end, premium smartphones.”
As far as specs go, the LG K92 is right in the mid-range sweet spot. It features Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 690 processor, 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of internal storage. The phone has support for microSD, so you can add more internal storage if you need to.
That hardware is powering Android 10, which is expected for a phone at this price point. The company didn’t announce whether the device would receive Android 11 in the future, though we’d expect to see at least one major software update for the device.
The screen is 6.7-inches with a 1080p resolution. Under the screen is a hole-punched 16MP selfie camera. LG didn’t announce the refresh rate for the LG K92 5G.
Speaking of cameras, the back of the phone features a 64MP primary camera, a 5MP ultra-wide-angle shooter, a 2MP depth lens, and a 2MP macro camera. That’s a pretty solid camera setup for a device at such a low price point, though we’ll have to wait and see how the photos look when the phone comes out.
The LG K92 5G features a 4,000mAh battery, Qualcomm Quick Charge 4 technology, and plenty of other features that make this a phone worth having on your radar if you’re not into the idea of purchasing an expensive flagship.
When Will the LG K92 5G Launch?
The new LG smartphone will launch on November 6 on Cricket, AT&T, and US Cellular.
Interestingly, the phone will retail for $359 at Cricket. However, on AT&T, the phone will sell for $395. LG will launch the phone in a Titan Gray color with Reflective Accents, and it looks quite nice.
