The streaming service offers many languages to choose from and the chances are the one you speak is available to use. So here’s how to change the language on Netflix on the web and on mobile.

How to Change Language on Netflix Using the Accounts Menu

The Accounts menu is where you control all of the features of Netflix. You’ll find an option here that lets you change the language for your Netflix account.

You can use this option to switch to a different language and then use that language all across the platform. Here’s how to do that on the web and mobile.

Change the Language on Netflix Web

1. Head to Netflix, click your profile icon at the top-right, and select Account.
2. Scroll down to the Profile & Parental Controls section.
3. Click the down-arrow icon next to your profile, and then select Change next to Language.
4. Choose a new language from the Display Language section.

   
   

5. You can also tick languages in the Shows & Movies section so that Netflix can recommend you shows in your chosen languages.
6. Finally, click Save to save your changes.

Change the Language on the Netflix Mobile App

1. Open the Netflix app, tap More at the bottom, and select Account.
2. Your default browser will load Netflix’s Account menu.
3. Scroll down on your screen, tap the arrow next to your profile, and tap Change next to Language.
4. Select a new language from the Display Language section, and then tap Save at the bottom.

5. Feel free to choose a language from the Shows & Movies Language section to get recommendations for the shows in your chosen language.

How to Change Language on Netflix Using the Profiles Menu

Your Profiles menu also offers the option to change the language in your Netflix account. However, you can only use this menu on the web and not on the mobile app to switch between languages.

1. Click your profile icon at the top-right and select Manage Profiles.
2. Select the profile you want to change the language for.
3. On the resulting screen, click the Language dropdown menu and choose a new language for your profile.

How to Change the Subtitles and Audio Language on Netflix

If you’re only looking to change the audio language or subtitles language for movies and shows (where to download subtitles for movies and TV shows), you can do that while watching them. You don’t need to do that in advance from any menus on the platform.

1. Play the content you want to change the language for on Netflix web.
2. Click the little conversation icon at the bottom.

2. Pause the content and tap Audio & Subtitles.

If you want to watch movies and/or shows that are in a certain language, Netflix actually offers you the option to search for items by using the language as a keyword.
