Nvidia’s GeForce NOW Cloud Gaming Service Arrives on iOS

Nvidia GeForce NOW is coming to iOS, meaning that if you have an iPhone or iPad, you can connect to the cloud gaming service.

However, you won’t be downloading an app from the iOS App Store. Nvidia is circumventing Apple entirely and providing GeForce NOW as a mobile web app.

Nvidia GeForce NOW Works via iOS Safari

Nvidia has been rather sneaky about making its platform a part of Apple’s notoriously closed ecosystem.

Normally, iPhone and iPad users would head to the app store to download something like GeForce NOW.

In a post on the Nvidia Blog, dated 11/19, the GeForce NOW creator confirms that it has taken the same route as Microsoft has with its Game Pass. You will access the streaming service via a mobile web app. So, in the case of iOS users, this will be iOS Safari.

How Do You Access Nvidia GeForce NOW on iOS?

The process is a simple one. If you are one of GeForce NOW’s 5 million customers, all you need to do is grab your iOS device, launch Safari, and sign in to the service.

Even if you don’t currently have a GeForce NOW account, all you need to do is register for one via the memberships page on the Nvidia site.

If you do sign up, be aware that you will have to pay a subscription fee. This will cost you $4.99/month, or you can get a six-month Founders membership for $24.95.

How Do You Play Nvidia GeForce NOW Games on iOS?

In order to play the games, you will need to use a control pad. Nvidia recommends a device specifically tailored for mobile gaming, like the Razer Kishi or the Razer Raiju. However, other Bluetooth controllers will work with GeForce NOW.
