Rather than TwitchCon happening in-person, this year the event has moved online and been dubbed GlitchCon.
Now, Twitch has announced the exciting schedule for the 12-hour event that will take place across multiple channels on the streaming site.
What Is GlitchCon?
As we reported previously, this year TwitchCon has become GlitchCon. TwitchCon is a conference that occurs twice a year in different locations around the world, designed to celebrate the best of Twitch and its community.
In 2020, TwitchCon was due to take place in Amsterdam and San Diego. Of course, the coronavirus pandemic put pay to that—gathering huge numbers of people in the same place is hardly a good idea right now.
Twitch has confirmed that these events will not be rescheduled and are fully canceled. It advises that you keep your eye on the Twitch Twitter for future updates on the physical TwitchCon event.
Twitch still wanted the event to go ahead in some form, thus it became GlitchCon. It’s going to be an online-only event that takes place on November 14, 2020 and lasts for 12 hours.
GlitchCon is described by Twitch as an “alternative dimension where we can all be together” and will be free to watch.

GlitchCon begins at 9am PT on November 14, 2020 and will last for 12 hours. All local times are displayed on the website.
The event will be split across four different Twitch channels: Twitch, TwitchPresents, TwitchGaming, and TwitchRivals.
Each of these channels will host different types of content. For example, TwitchPresents will showcase artists and musicians, while TwitchRivals is all about gamers battling against one another.
Though primarily hosted by JD Witherspoon and Mari Takahashi, over 425 Twitch creators will be showcased during GlitchCon as hosts, judges, competitors, and participants.
GlitchCon will begin with an address from Twitch CEO Emmett Shear. Other highlights include:
- GlitchCon Showdown: 16 top Twitch creators will battle in four teams on games like Fortnite, Valorant, and League of Legends, all playing for a share of a $500,000 prize pool.
- Cosplay Content: A panel will judge cosplayers through a series of brackets, with Twitch chat getting to decide who their favorite is.
- Let’s Make a Game: An interactive game design experience where the Twitch audience gets to make decisions to build a game that will be available for download after GlitchCon.
- Artist Alley Showcase: Loads of artists will get to show off their unique artwork, with some pieces being available to buy.
