Xiaomi has announced when the Mi 11 will make its way to market in China, and it’s literally right around the corner. Rather than waiting until 2021, as was rumored initially, the company will release the phone on December 28, 2020.
Quite a few companies have confirmed intentions to release phones with the speedy Snapdragon 888 processor. Still, it looks like Xiaomi is going to be the first one to release a phone with the chip installed, as the Xiaomi Mi 11 is set to come with the speedy 5G chip.
Xiaomi Mi 11 Is Coming Soon… to China
In a recent post on Chinese social media platform Weibo, Xiaomi co-founder Mr. Lei Jun revealed that the company plans to release the Xiaomi Mi 11 on December 28 at 7:30 PM. While he didn’t specify, we’d have to assume that he means China Standard Time for that release.
Unfortunately, we still don’t know when and if the Xiaomi Mi 11 will see a global launch. It sounds like a rather promising phone, and we’d love to see it leave the shores of China and make its way to the rest of the world, but we’ll have to wait and see.
What Else Do We Know About the Xiaomi Mi 11?
Other than the Snapdragon 888, we don’t know much about the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 11 smartphone, other than the fact that it’s high-end.
Presumably, the company will reveal more information before the release date. Mr. Lei Jun did imply that the phone would feature some surprises, so we’ll have to wait and see what it brings to the table.
There are plenty of rumors about the features and specifications of the phone. For example, we’ve heard that it will feature a high-end QHD+ screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. We’d expect the phone to feature lots of RAM to support the new high-end processor.
What Else Do We Know About the Snapdragon 888?
The Snapdragon 888 is one of the most exciting new pieces of technology coming to the smartphone world, and it looks to be a game-changer for the smartphone world. The company revealed some early benchmarks for the chip, and it handily beat most devices except for the proprietary Apple A14 processor.
It’ll feature support for 5G, which is standard for any modern chip. It also supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth audio. The chip is manufactured using the most advanced 5nm process technology, which provides better performance and superior power efficiency.
To put it simply, the 888 is an exciting jump in the world of smartphone processors, and we can’t wait to get our hands on a phone with it installed.
