Xbox Game Pass Releases Fantastic New Music Album

Ever wanted to listen to members of the Xbox Game Pass team performing their very own original Christmas hits, including a ballad?

Well, now you can, because the team has released an album for you to see the new year in. If you are sensitive to phrases loaded with sarcasm, look away now.

Wow, That’s What I Call Xbox Game Pass

Those crazy cats from Xbox Game Pass (XGP) have been tinkering around with Ableton and have released a music album. Yep, that’s right, if you want to get your NYE into full swing, then you might want to check out this critically acclaimed musical magnum opus from the XGP bandstand.

Loaded with four killer tracks, the album, dubbed Wow, That’s What I Call XGP, is a nod to the NOW music compilations. We’re wondering if a New Year number one Billboard spot is possible for the XGP crew.

What Is the Xbox Game Pass Album Like?

Have you ever been scrolling through XGP games and thought to yourself, “I’d really love to hear Xbox marketing guru Jenn Panattoni crooning an original Christmas Ballad.”?

Xbox has made all of this and more possible, as the first track on the album, The Gift That Keeps On Giving, actually features the silken tones of Panattoni on vocals. This is definitely one for those who love a good warbly ballad in the style of cultural icons like Whitney Houston or Celine Dion.

Track two, Leaving Soon, is a modern R&B track that deals with sensitive and topical issues, such as the despair felt when you lose your favorite Game Pass games as they drop off the roster.

We take a trip to the local Euro-dance nightclub for track three, So Many Games, which really gets the party started with a devilish 4/4 kick drum and warped bassline to see the New Year in with a bang.

The album closes out with a big swing hit called Launch Day. A Dean Martin-esque track which triumphantly heralds the arrival of new Game Pass titles over brass instruments and off-kilter, jazzy drum patterns.

Here’s to More Xbox Game Pass Albums in 2021

We hope you have enjoyed being subjected to Wow, That’s What I Call XGP Volume One as much as we have. Given that this is Volume One, we are excited to see what the XGP team comes up with for Volume Two!

If you fancy making your own Christmas hits and trying to knock Xbox Game Pass off its inevitable New Year Number One perch, then you could always break out the music production software and create your own rival track.

You never know, XGP Records could end up signing you for its next release.
