Sling TV Is Now $5 More Expensive

Sling TV is increasing its prices across a variety of subscriptions and add-ons. To help compensate for that, the streaming service is giving away more DVR storage for free.

What Does Sling TV Cost Now?

The last Sling TV price increase was in December 2019. Now, just over a year later, there’s another.

Both the Sling Orange and Sling Blue services are now $35/month, which marks a $5 increase. This change comes into effect immediately for new subscribers, while existing customers will retain their current rates until July 2021.

Add-on packages will also be more expensive. Sports Extra will cost $11/month, while all other add-ons will be $6/month. That’s a $1 increase for everything.

Additionally, The Total TV Deal is now $21/month, up $1, for those who subscribe to either Blue or Orange. Those who bundle will be charged $27/month, up $2.

In a statement, Sling TV Group President Michael Schwimmer said:

Unfortunately, we are forced to raise prices because the television networks keep charging us more, but we fight hard to get the best deal for our customers.

To help soften the blow, Sling is offering more free DVR storage. Now, instead of 10 hours, customers can get 50 hours of free DVR storage. Also, the $5/month DVR Plus package now gives 200 hours of storage, a 150-hour increase. Recordings can be kept indefinitely.
