Twitter’s acquisition of Revue is a sign that the social giant is joining the newsletter creation business. Revue is a dedicated platform for creating and managing email newsletter subscriptions.
Revue Joins Forces With Twitter
Twitter announced its purchase of Revue in a post on the Twitter Blog, and hopes that this new integration will make it easier for writers and journalists to “connect with their subscribers,” as well as help readers “better discover writers and their content.”
The acquisition will allow writers to invite readers to sign up for their newsletter subscriptions through Twitter. Twitter also mentioned that there may be “new settings for writers to host conversations with their subscribers.”
Today we’re announcing that @revue has joined @twitter! 🧡💙
The folks over at Twitter are amazing partners who believe in and add to our mission and vision. Thanks to them we can invest more, build faster, and serve you better.

Twitter also noted that the platform will make Revue Pro features free for all accounts, and will also reduce the paid newsletter fee by 5 percent. It’s clear that these slashed fees are designed to directly compete with Substack, another popular newsletter creation service that charges a 10 percent fee.
The Future of Revue on Twitter
Revue will still function as a standalone service, but Twitter’s purchase should definitely make the service more attractive. While Revue and Twitter will remain separate entities for now, Twitter will likely establish innovative integrations to bridge the gap between both platforms.
