Yeelight in 2021: Razer Chroma-Compatible Smart Lights Impress Gamers

Fresh off the back of announcing a partnership with Razer at Razercon 2020, Yeelight is back at CES to debut its latest Chroma-compatible smart lightbulbs, ceiling lights, and lightbars.

Four new Yeelight products will be coming to market in Q1 2021:

  • Yeelight Smart LED Bulb W3
  • Yeelight GU10 Smart Bulb W1
  • Yeelight Arwen Ceiling Light S Series
  • Yeelight LED Screen Light Bar Pro

Perhaps most importantly for people who are looking for a budget way to introduce a smart gaming light setup into their home, all four products are Razer-Chroma compatible. For those who don’t know, that means the lights can react to on-screen changes and provide gamers with a more thematic and immersive experience.

You can read more about how the lights sync with Razer Chroma in our review of the Yeelight Chroma Connector. Make sure you also check out the video to see the setup in action.

Let’s take a quick look at the four new Yeelight products at CES 2021 individually.

1. Yeelight Smart LED Bulb W3

All four of Yeelight’s new products are color-changing. The first item, the next-gen W3 bulb, supports 16 million colors to allow you to create the perfect lighting setup for any event. With game sync and music sync, it is also great for adding a sense of fun and vibrancy to parties and gatherings. The bulb is dimmable.

2. Yeelight GU10 Smart Bulb W1

The W1 GU10 smart bulb is available in color and dimmable versions. In addition to Razer Chroma, Overwolf gaming is also supported. Group control is available and like the W3, 16 million colors are available.

3. Yeelight Arwen Ceiling Light S Series

Of course, in-home lighting goes beyond simple lightbulbs and lampshades. If you’re looking to reinvigorate the ambiance of your entire home, you need to consider your ceiling light setup as well.

The all-new Yeelight Arwen Ceiling Light S Series comes with a main light and a 16-million color mood might. Importantly, the lights work with all the major smart assistant systems, including Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Samsung SmartThings.

4. Yeelight LED Screen Light Bar Pro

The Razer Chroma-compatible Yeelight LED Screen Light Bar Pro is designed to create a more immersive gaming experience (like the Yeelight GU10 Smart Bulb W1, Overwolf is also supported). Again, 16 million colors are supported, with complex lighting sequences triggered by in-game events.

Here’s how Eric Jiang, CEO of Yeelight, described the new bulbs to the press:

We’re excited to bring these wonderful products to our global users at CES. Smart lighting made it easier. We hope Yeelight would enable more users to enjoy the fun and convenience of smart lighting.
