Discord for iPhone has been refreshed in the App Store with several new features, including a new option making it much easier to save images from Twitter embeds. With it, you can save memes from tweets without the workarounds you previously had to resort to.
Sadly, this doesn’t seem to work with animated GIFs. Also, saving static images from tweets is currently unavailable in Discord for Windows and Discord for Android. Only version 60.0 of the Discord app for iOS appears to have this helpful new feature implemented.

How to Save Images From Tweets
To save an image like a meme from a tweet you were sent, long-tap the tweet in question and choose the option labeled “Save Image”. You’ll find the image saved in the Photos library on your device. Before this change, you were forced to manually open a tweet in a web browser before you could save the underlying image to your device.
As The Verge notes, the Android version employs a different process for saving tweet images. Firstly, you must tap the image to open it fullscreen. Once in the fullscreen interface, hit the Download button near the top of the screen to save the image to the device.
Other New Features in Discord for iOS
Aside from saving images from Twitter embeds, the changelog shown in Discord’s latest iOS version mentioned a pair of other new features. The first one is a handy emoji popout on the desktop that lets you know where an emoji is from.
“Tap that little emoji fella in chat while on your phone and see who he belongs to,” reads the changelog in Discord’s settings menu on desktop and mobile. And if you use Discord on your iPad, you’ll be delighted to learn that mobile screen sharing is now available on your tablet.
