New Study Says Android Users Make Better Partners Than iPhone Users

There’s a neverending battle raging on between iPhone and Android smartphone users. Even those who don’t participate in the battle have chosen sides only by picking their smartphone.

There’s a new wrinkle in the battle, as CompareMyMobile has done a recent study regarding whether iPhone or Android users make better relationship partners. As it turns out, iPhone users tend to have more annoying phone habits than Android users, leading to the conclusion that Android users make better partners.

Of course, there’s more to the data than that simple conclusion, so let’s dive in a little deeper and take a look.

iPhone and Android Relationship Study

The study’s overall conclusion is that Android users make better partners than iPhone users, but the results go much deeper than that superficial conclusion. In total, the study surveyed more than 2,000 users, so it does offer a reasonably-large sample size.

When looking at the most annoying smartphone habits, the study found that iPhone users were 12 percent more likely to commit an offense than their Android-owning counterparts. In fact, iPhone users committed more phone use atrocities than Android users in every single category of the survey.

Some examples of the annoying offenses include leaving their partner on read, using their phone during a movie, and even using their phone while driving (which is not only annoying but also incredibly dangerous). iPhone users are even more likely to drop and break their phones than Android users, which is a truly surprising statistic.

Some other annoying habits include creeping on other people’s social media profiles, using excessive filters on photos, sending multiple one-line messages (I know I do this way too much), and using their phone while having a conversation.

Interestingly, the study also found that men were more likely to perform most of the annoying (and in some cases downright unsafe) habits than women.

But Apple Users Get More Dates

According to another study published by CompareMyMobile, iPhone users are more likely to get dates in online dating apps. The study, which looked at over 50,000 swipes, found that iPhone users are 76 percent more likely to get a date than someone with an Android handset when talking through a dating app.

If the first study is to be believed, the relationship might not work out due to the iPhone user creeping on other social media profiles and texting while driving. Still, they’re more likely to find their next partner when the previous relationship doesn’t work out.

In the end, dating is never easy. So do your best to prevent your phone from becoming the device that kills a good thing!
