r/WallStreetBets, the Reddit community behind the GameStop stock frenzy, got its own Super Bowl ad. Reddit created a brief five-second ad to honor the will and pure determination of WallStreetBets.
WallStreetBets Makes the Super Bowl
Anyone watching the Super Bowl LV got a nice surprise in between Rob Gronkowski’s record-breaking touchdowns and The Weeknd’s Las Vegas-themed performance. For what seemed like a split-second during the commercial break, an ad from Reddit appeared on the screen.
The start of the ad features the Reddit logo, which then disappears to display the message, “Wow, this actually worked. If you’re reading this, it means our bet paid off.”

The message continues, saying: “One thing we learned from our communities last week is that underdogs can accomplish just about anything when they come together around a common idea.” Here, Reddit was clearly referring to WallStreetBet’s victory over Wall Street, as it battled with angry hedge funds and Robinhood’s trading restrictions.
It closes out the ad, noting: “Powerful things happen when people rally around something they really care about. And there’s a place for that. It’s called Reddit.”
Reddit’s Super Bowl Surprise
Although this ad was only shown for mere seconds, Reddit noted that it spent its “entire marketing budget” on this incredibly short commercial. WallStreetBets was definitely deserving of the celebratory message, and likely came as a surprise to the community’s 8.7 million members.
