Can’t find the GoPro app on your phone? That might be because it’s been rebranded as Quik. Don’t worry, the app still works you to connect to and control your GoPro cameras—there are just a few new features as well.
GoPro Merges Its Two Apps Into One
GoPro is releasing its main smartphone app (which acts as a digital viewfinder and remote control for GoPro cameras) with the features of its video auto-editing app Quik. It’s called—unsurprisingly—GoPro Quik.
The most obvious change is the addition of Murals, which is a feed that allows you to organize your images and videos, and optionally edit them together. Quik also has unlimited original quality cloud backup of everything you post.
Using the in-app editor, you can add in royalty-free music, as well as speed up or slow down video footage at different points. It’s also possible to buy extra themes and filters if there isn’t anything amongst the free selections that appeal to you.

The app is free to download, but you’ll have to pay $1.99/month or $9.99/year to access more than just the basic camera connection feature. That is, unless you already pay for GoPro’s Plus subscription service.

Edit Your Photos and Videos With Gopro Quik
Previously, GoPro released Quik as a separate download from the main GoPro app in 2016. The old Quik listing has since been removed from both the App Store and the Play Store, as it’s no longer being supported.
It’s a win-win situation: if you frequently use the GoPro app, it just got better. If you loved the Quik features, they’re still around—just in a new package.
