Hey Google, Please Buy Me a New Fiat 500

Nobody likes a backseat driver, but Google is creating one you’ll actually want in your car. The technology giant has announced a partnership with Fiat to create the Fiat 500 Family Hey Google range.

Hey Google, What’s the “Fiat 500 Family Hey Google” Range?

Google announced the partnership on The Keyword, the tech giant’s own news website. The new range will feature three cars with Google Assistant functionality: the 500, 500x, and 500L. These cars will hit the roads in Italy, the U.K., France, Spain, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Poland.

Of course, anyone can use Google Assistant while they drive, no matter what car they own. All you need to do is strap your phone onto your car and ask it to help guide you around, contact friends, or keep you entertained during your drive.

However, the Fiat 500 Family Hey Google range is a little different. Because the whole car supports Google Assistant, it means you can get status reports on it even while it’s sitting in the garage.

For example, if you want to know how much fuel is in the tank before you go for a drive, you can ask your assistant, “Hey Google, ask My Fiat to check the fuel the fuel levels,” and your car will tell you everything you need to know.

If you tend to forget if you locked their car or not, Google Assistant can help there, too. Just ask whether your car is locked up or not, and Google Assistant will double-check to see if everything is safe and sound.

Google didn’t reveal more details past that, but AutoExpress managed to dig up some extra details. For the 500, you can expect to pay £16,005 for a hatchback and £18,655 for a cabriolet.

Meanwhile, the 500X will start at £20,764, and the 500L comes in at £20,345. As such, there are plenty of choices depending on your desired features and budget.

A New Kind of “Google Drive”

Everyone can use Google Assistant while they drive, but not every car has it built into its system. With the new Fiat 500 Family Hey Google range, you can ask Google for information even when you’re off the road.

If you’re interested in a car with Google Assistant built-in, there’s an excellent chance you own an Android phone, too. Luckily, there are plenty of apps and tools for Android made especially for driving.
