Hisense is a brand we know for its high-quality displays, be those TVs or projectors. Now, it has released the latest device in its home theater range. Prepare to be wowed.
Hisense Releases 120 Inch Laser Cinema
The Hisense L5F is the most recent addition to the Chinese brands flock of home theater devices. It boasts an image size of up to 120 inches, all in glorious 4K to ensure you get the most from movies, TV series’, and games.
You can purchase the L5F now, just head to the Hisense USA Store’s Laser TVs page, Amazon, BeachCamera, or Vanns. Prepare to spend, though, as this laser cinema comes in at $4,999. You get plenty of bang for your buck, though.
What Is the Hisense L5F Capable Of?
Well, on paper (and without having tested one yet), the L5F looks impressive. Here’s what Hisense says the laser cinema boasts:
… true-to-life images that exceed the standard 4K color range, built-in speakers with dbx-tv cinematic sound and a robust Android TV™ platform.
You’re already onto a winner with the 4K color range. Add integrated 30 watt speakers and Android TV and you’ve got a serious bit of kit on your hands. Hisense says:
Viewers can choose from more than 5,000 apps and games including Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, Prime Video, Disney+, HBO Max and much more. Android TV also comes with built-in Google Assistant, so consumers can use the voice remote to quickly access their smart home devices, check out what they want to watch, and with universal search, it’s never been easier to get recommendations.
Note that, with Android TV, you can also use services like Nvidia GeForce Now, essentially turning your cinema into a game console; you just need to add a wireless bluetooth controller to the equation and you’re good to game, straight from the console.
What Features Does the Hisense L5F Boast?
Besides the above, the L5F comes with plenty of bells and whistles. It provides the 4K UHD picture via DLP technology, much like VAVA’s similar 4K laser TV. This uses a process called pixel-shifting to provide a 4K image.
As mentioned, you can enjoy a screen size of 120 inches, which is absolutely massive. Just be sure you have the space to display an image this size! The projector is ultra short throw, meaning that it only needs to be 13 inches or so from the wall to generate an image of that size.
However, you don’t need to worry about a screen. Hisense has gone the extra mile and provides one with the projector, so you can use it straight out of the box, pretty much. It rejects ambient light for a truer, more lifelike image.
Finally, the X-FUSION Laser Light Source can reach brightness levels of around 2,700 lumens, displaying over a billion colors and offering 25,000 hours of entertainment before the bulbs need switching out. This is about three years of continuous watching, for context (not that you’ll be watching it 24 hours a day, of course).
Will You Be Buying a Hisense L5F Laser Cinema?
We wouldn’t blame you for reaching for the credit card. The L5F looks like an excellent device. Aside from everything else, including a screen is a real boon, as you don’t have to worry whether the third party display you would have ordered is going to be right for the projector.
While there are plenty of options out there, the Hisense L5F looks like it could emerge victorious when pitched against its peers. We can’t wait to see what it is capable of for ourselves.
