If you’re in the market for a new laptop that’ll help make getting through the school year a more enjoyable experience, Lenovo has you covered. The company has announced many new laptops with both Windows 10 and Chrome OS installed on Lenovo.com, so there’s almost certainly one that’ll work for you.
Lenovo’s New Windows Laptops
Starting on the Windows side, Lenovo has announced the Lenovo 14w Gen 2 laptop and the 100w, 300w, 500w Gen 3 Windows laptops. Between the four different laptops, there’s almost certainly one that’ll work for you.
All of the laptops are on the affordable side, with the most expensive of them being the Lenovo 500w Gen 3, and that goes for $429. From there, the Lenovo 300w Gen 3 goes for $359. The Lenovo 14w Gen 2 sells for $334, and the Lenovo 100w Gen 3 retails for $299.
The Lenovo 14w Gen 2 and the 300w Gen 3 go on sale in May of 2021. The Lenovo 100w Gen 3 and the 500w Gen 3 will launch in June 2021.
Each of the Windows laptops has modest specifications, which is to be expected for the price tag. The top model, which is the 500w Gen 3, comes with an Intel Pentium N6000 processor, 8GB of RAM, and a 128GB SSD.
The 100w, 300w, and 500w are all 11.6-inch laptops, which the Lenovo 14w Gen 2 features a 14-inch display.
What About Lenovo’s New Chromebooks?
Lenovo definitely didn’t forget about the Chrome OS fans with its new laptops, as the company has models that coincide with each of the Windows laptops. Instead of w at the end of the model number, the Chromebooks have an e.
In terms of pricing, they follow the same structure as the Windows laptops, so you won’t have to pay any extra regardless of which OS you choose. So you’ll get the Lenovo 500e Gen 3 for $429, the Lenovo 300e Gen 3 for $359, and so on.
All of the Chromebook models are scheduled to release in May 2021, so you won’t have to wait too long to get your hand on one of them.
The 500e is powered by an Intel Celeron N5100 processor, slightly different from the 500w but still quite powerful for the price.
For sizes, the Chromebooks follow the same patterns as the Windows laptops. That means the 100e, 300e, and 500e are 11.6-inch models, and the 14e laptop is 14-inches.
They’re Coming Soon
Interestingly, the laptops are releasing right around the end of the school year, so they may not be particularly useful for this year. However, if you’re looking for an affordable laptop for next year, these are definitely worth a look, as they’re quite powerful for the price.
