Microsoft Is "Actively Working" to Fix Unresponsive Xbox Controllers

Have you noticed that the next generation of Xbox controllers has a hard time keeping up with your gaming habits? If so, you can rest assured that Microsoft does know and is working to fix any problems that gamers come across.

Microsoft’s Problems With the Xbox Controller

Microsoft declared its intent to fix unresponsive controllers in a statement to The Loadout. In case you haven’t come across this problem yourself, people are finding that their new Xbox Series X controllers aren’t responding as well as they like.

A user named “SK Lee” detailed the problems they faced with their new controller. For one, the Y button didn’t respond to every button press, despite the other buttons working perfectly.

If that wasn’t enough, SK Lee also reported that the controller would drop its connection every so often. Combined with the button problem, it made playing games with the controller a highly frustrating experience.

Microsoft’s Response to the Xbox Controller Woes

Fortunately, Microsoft knows full well about these problems. In a statement, the company said the following:

At Microsoft, we put all of our products through rigorous quality assurance testing and are committed to providing customers with an unparalleled gaming experience. We are aware some players may be experiencing unresponsiveness with their new Xbox Wireless Controllers and our teams are actively working on a solution. For the best experience, we encourage customers to visit Xbox Support for assistance.

Unfortunately, this statement appears to be nothing more than acknowledging and reassuring that the company is fixing the issue. However, if you are having controller issues, stay tuned for a patch in the future.

A Rocky Start for the Xbox Series X Controllers

This is not the first time we’ve seen Microsoft own up to the Xbox Series X controllers’ imperfections. In January 2021, Microsoft said it was working on a fix for Xbox Series X’s disconnection issues.

It’s important for Microsoft to square away these controller problems, as the competition is scorching right now. Both the Nintendo Switch and the PlayStation 5 are putting up good numbers, and Microsoft can’t afford to let its controllers get bogged down with these game-breaking issues.

Giving Control Back to the Players

If you’ve discovered that your Xbox Series X controller is acting up, you’re not alone. Others are reporting iffy buttons and disconnection issues, but Microsoft is on the case… hopefully, sooner rather than later.

If you want to shop around for a truly unique controller, we recently gave the Mega Modz Custom Xbox Series X controllers a shining 10 out of 10 in a recent review. They’re based on official hardware and will stand out in any gamer’s collection.
