The New Amazon Fire TV UI Is Now Available on More Devices

Amazon is bringing its revamped Fire TV interface to more of its streaming devices. The company had first revealed the new Fire TV UI experience in December 2020 but limited the roll out to the third-generation Fire TV Stick and Fire TV Lite.

Amazon has now announced on the Fire TV blog that it is now rolling out the new Fire TV interface to more of its streaming devices, including the Fire TV Cube, Fire TV Stick 4K, and the third-gen Fire TV.

Redesigned Home Screen, Personalized Profiles, More

There are plenty of new features and changes in the latest Fire TV experience. This starts with a redesigned home screen that makes it easier to find the content you love. The Main Menu now sits right in the middle of the home screen and provides you with quick access to your favorite apps and live channels.

Scrolling over to an app will automatically give you a preview of all the content that’s available for streaming on it. You can directly jump to the content you like right from this preview screen.

You can also create up to six profiles that will be personalized as per your viewing history, watch lists, live TV preferences, and more.

Parents can also set up a Kids profile using Amazon Kids to ensure their children only watch family-friendly content. This feature is only available in the US, though.

There’s also a new Find function with which Amazon hopes to reduce the time you spend browsing different apps trying to find something interesting to watch. The new Find experience will let you browse between movies, TV shows, sports, and other ad-free content available for streaming.

Amazon recently also launched a new Alexa Voice Remote for Fire TV devices with dedicated app buttons. Depending on the region where you live, the app buttons will open different applications. The Alexa button on the remote has been given a blue theme inline with the voice assistant’s logo.

New Fire TV Experience Is Coming to These Fire TV Devices

The below Fire TV devices from Amazon will get the new Fire TV experience:

  • Fire TV Stick (third-gen)
  • Fire TV Stick Lite
  • Fire TV Stick 4K
  • Fire TV Cube (first and second gen)
  • Fire TV (third gen)

Amazon is also planning on rolling out the new Fire TV experience to the second gen Fire TV Stick and Fire TV Smart TVs later this year.
