You Can Now Shuffle TV Shows on Amazon Prime Video

If you can’t decide which episode of your favorite TV show to watch, Amazon Prime Video has you covered. The streaming service now has a shuffle feature, though at the moment it’s only available on the Android app.

Shuffle TV on Amazon Prime Video for Android

As first spotted by Android Police, the latest release of the Amazon Prime Video app for Android now has a Shuffle episodes button.

Unfortunately, since Amazon splits its TV series into separate collections per season, the shuffle button will only shuffle episodes from the season you’ve selected.

Nevertheless, if you can’t decide which episode to watch, it’s a welcome feature. It’s ideal for anthology shows or sitcoms that you can dip in and out of, where there is no ongoing narrative or canon, rather than a sequential show like The Walking Dead or Breaking Bad.

It’s not yet clear if the shuffle feature will be coming to other devices or the web version of Amazon Prime Video.

Netflix Is Also Getting a Shuffle Button

Netflix has been testing the same shuffle feature, dubbed Shuffle Play during tests, which will roll out to users in the first half of 2021. At least on Android, Amazon has beaten Netflix to the punch—it might aim to do the same for other devices.
