Google Will Soon Discontinue the Q&A Feature on Search

For certain search queries, Google displays a small Q&A section on the search results page. This section contains your asked question and an answer for it. It looks like Google doesn’t like this feature anymore, and so it’s planning to kill it by this June.

It’s possible that you’ve never seen this feature before, as Google only rolled it out to certain regions. It looks like below when you type a certain query on Google:

Basically, this Q&A section shows the answers to your search query. The section shows some similar questions as well along with their answers. If an answer helped you out, you can click its vote button to give it a vote.

According to a notification on Google’s support site, the company is going to shut down this feature by June 30, 2021. After that, you’ll no longer see this Q&A section while performing searches on Google.

If you’ve made any contributions to this feature, Google suggests that you make a backup of your contributions from Takeout. It adds you should complete this step by June 30.

No More Asking and Answering

Once Google finally pulls the plug on this feature, you’ll no longer be able to get answers and ask questions like you could do before with the feature. However, know that Google Search will continue to function normally.
