Two New 11th Gen Intel Core Processors Announced With Intel Iris Xe Graphics

At Computex 2021, Intel announced two new 11th Gen Intel Core processors. The new processors are designed for use in ultraportable laptops and Ultrabooks.

Both Processors Come With Intel Iris Xe Graphics

The standout feature in both processors is that they have onboard Intel Iris Xe Graphics. Although, the onboard graphics are no match for discrete GPUs, they are more than enough for the average consumer and creator.

Although you can’t play the latest titles at full HD using Intel Iris Xe Graphics, two or three year old games should run just fine. This should be expected since the processors are designed for portable work laptops and not for gaming.

On the multimedia front, however, you can watch 8K video with ease. The onboard graphics also support Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos 3D sound, making it a viable candidate for your media needs.

Out of the two new processors launched, the Intel Core i7 – 1195G7 is the flagship, with the Intel Core i5 – 1155G7 making its entry to Intel’s mid-range lineup.

In a press release on the Intel Newsroom, the company states that the new 11th Gen Intel Core Processors offer “up to 5 gigahertz (GHz)” of clock speed. The Intel Core i7 1195G7 has a base clock of 2.9 GHz, while the Intel Core i5 1155G7’s base clock is 2.5 GHz.

Additional features of the new processors include a 25% increase in application performance, up to eight times faster transcoding, and Intel Wi-Fi 6/6E for improved connectivity. Both processors come with 4 cores and 8 threads.

The Intel 5G Solution 5000

In addition to the new processors, Intel also announced a new 5G M.2 module called the 5G Solution 5000. This is Intel’s “first 5G M.2 solution with worldwide carrier certification.”

Intel says:

The combination of swift, 5G connectivity paired with Intel Wi-Fi 6/6E (Gig+) enable seamless experiences across all network types. As Intel sets a new standard for mobile computing, Wi-Fi and 5G will be the main pillars supporting the pervasive connectivity needs of the future.

The first adopters of Intel’s new technology are manufacturers such as ASUS, Acer, and HP. Intel expects more than 30 designs in 2022 based on the 11th Gen Intel Core U and H series processors.
