Microsoft has added several new features to its Teams platform in the past few months. The company has now come up with a new feature to allow you to cast to a Teams Room device from the Teams app on an iOS or Android device.
Cast to a Teams Room Device From the Teams Mobile App
As first spotted by a Twitter user and later confirmed on Microsoft’s support site, Microsoft has added the ability to cast to a Teams Room device from the Teams app on both iOS and Android devices. This feature seems to be gradually rolling out, which means you may or may not see it on your phone right away.
Don’t you just love it when you bounce in #MicrosoftTeams on the mobile and see a new app! 😉🎉 Hello Cast! Which allows you to cast content to a Teams Room 👍
I am unable to try this but hopefully a few of you have! 👉 https://t.co/AfR3X5T03b#Microsoft365 #iOS pic.twitter.com/Uw3WTV4l4S

Once the feature is rolled out for everyone, you should be able to cast your phone’s screen to any of your Teams Room devices.
Cast a PowerPoint Presentation or a Phone Screen With Teams
This new feature adds the ability to cast both your phone’s screen as well as a PowerPoint presentation, but one at a time, though.
To use this feature, there are some minimum requirements. This includes having Bluetooth turned on on your mobile device. Both your Teams Room device and your mobile must be connected to the internet. Your mobile must be within a 10 feet range of your Teams Room device.
Then, you need to launch the Teams app on your iPhone or Android device, tap the More option at the bottom of the screen, and select Cast. You don’t need to have an online meeting running to be able to do this.
Select a Teams Room device from the list and then select what you’d like to cast. You can either cast a PowerPoint presentation from Teams, OneDrive, or a device, or cast your phone’s screen to the device.
Important Things to Know When You Cast With Microsoft Teams
There are a few things you should know before you start your first cast with the Teams app.
First, if you cast your phone’s screen, everything on your screen will appear on the Teams Room device, including notifications. Microsoft suggests you enable the Do not Disturb mode while casting.
Second, you can’t answer a call, join a meeting, or switch between Teams accounts while you’re casting.
Projecting Your Phone’s Screen on a Teams Room Device
If you have anything to display on your Teams Room device from your phone, you can now cast your phone’s screen using the Teams official app on both iOS and Android phones.
