If you own the new iPad Pro, your Zoom experience is about to get better. That’s because the video conferencing software now supports Apple’s Center Stage and an expanded Gallery View.
Use Apple’s Center Stage on Zoom
Center Stage is the name of a new camera feature for the iPad Pro. It uses machine learning to adjust the iPad’s camera so that you always stay in the frame as you move.
It also recognizes when other people join the frame and adjusts the view to ensure everyone is visible.
While this feature is already available on FaceTime, it’s also coming to Zoom when version 5.6.6 of the software launches later this week. You must also have either the 11-inch (third generation) or the 12.9-inch (fifth generation) 2021 iPad Pro.
Gallery View Gets an Expansion
Zoom’s Gallery View is also growing across all iPad models, with up to 25 video tiles visible.
However, those on the 12.9-inch 2021 iPad Pro get the biggest upgrade, since Zoom will support up to 48 video tiles (in a 6×8 landscape grid).
Simply pinch the display out and in to increase and decrease the number of visible video participants respectively.
As with support for Center Stage, the expanded Gallery View comes with Zoom version 5.6.6, available in a few days.
