Apple announced the iOS 15 update during WWDC 2021, and it is packed with numerous new features that appeal to almost everyone. While we do not have the update on our hands right now, Apple has confirmed the list of features we can look forward to in iOS 15.
Apple users have for a long time taken great pride over FaceTime, and iOS 15 finally provides a significant overhaul to the app. Read on as we take a closer look at the latest FaceTime updates in iOS 15.
Shared Content Streaming With SharePlay
Our favorite incoming iOS 15 feature is SharePlay. With SharePlay, you will be able to easily connect with friends and stream music, movies, and TV shows in perfect sync across your favorite platforms. SharePlay will support iPhone, iPad, Mac, and even Apple TV.
You no longer need to worry about irritating playback sync delays because, with SharePlay, you and your friends can binge your favorite TV shows perfectly over FaceTime in just a few clicks.
SharePlay currently supports Apple Music, ESPN+, Disney+, TikTok, Twitch, HBO Max, Hulu, MasterClass, Paramount+, and Pluto TV. More platforms are expected to be integrated with SharePlay gradually.
Improved FaceTime Calls
In iOS 15, FaceTime calls are better than ever. With spatial audio, your FaceTime calls feel more than natural than ever as the voices sound like they are coming from where the person is situated on the screen. There is also a new microphone mode that improves background noise filtration.
Is FaceTime Finally Coming to Windows?
iOS 15 will finally allow users to invite people on non-Apple devices to FaceTime. Windows and Android users will join FaceTime calls through a joinable link from the latest version of Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge. As always, FaceTime calls will be end-to-end encrypted, making sure your privacy is not sacrificed.
FaceTime Gets New Features With iOS 15
Apple is expected to make important announcements in the coming months, but in the meantime, we do know that with iOS 15, FaceTime will become one of the most loved apps on the supported devices.
