Get the Most From Bixby Quick Commands

Voice assistants are great and can really help to make your life that little bit easier. But do you know what’s better than asking your phone to execute a command? The answer is telling it one thing and having it execute multiple commands instantly.

With Bixby, one phrase can be used to execute multiple tasks simultaneously, thanks to Quick Commands. Let’s take a look at how to use it.

What Are Quick Commands?

Bixby Quick Commands is a customizable feature that is designed to turn a single command or phrase into a series of instantaneous actions. It’s one of Bixby’s best time saving features.

Once you set a Quick Command, you’ll be able to activate it using your chosen word or phrase and can then sit back while Bixby executes your list of chosen actions.

Use Bixby’s Quick Commands to Make Your Life Easier

If you’re keen to start using Quick Commands but aren’t sure where to start, Bixby helpfully provides a number of preset recommended Quick Commands for you to use or edit.

These include productivity commands, routine commands, and place commands. So, for example, if you were to say, “I’m Driving”, Bixby would automatically turn on your Bluetooth, turn off your Wi-Fi, and start playing your commute playlist ready for your journey.

How to Set Up Bixby Quick commands

While Bixby’s recommended Quick Commands provide a great starting point and some much-needed inspiration, Quick Commands are designed to be customizable. Here’s how to set up some of your own.

  1. Start by opening the Bixby app.
  2. Select the menu icon from the top left-hand corner of your screen.
  3. Navigate to Quick commands, and you’ll see Bixby’s recommended commands.
  4. From the bottom of your screen, select My commands and then tap the + icon to create one of your own.
  5. Fill out what you’d like to say to Bixby and what you’d like Bixby to do, and in what order.
  6. To test your new Quick Command, press Run.
  7. If you’re not happy with your command, then select Edit from the bottom of your screen to make changes.
  8. If you love the Quick Command feature and want to share one of your Quick Commands with a friend who also uses Bixby, then tap Share to share your command with them.

Is Bixby Growing to Rival Google Assistant and Siri?

If you think that Quick Commands is a cool timesaving Bixby feature, then wait until you try Bixby Vision. Bixby Vision is essentially Samsungs take on Google Lens, allowing its users to search, shop, and translate through their camera.

While Bixby may have been mocked in its early days, Samsung has clearly been working hard to improve its features, and the result is a personal assistant that most definitely rivals Google Assistant and Apple’s Siri.
