Lenovo Announces Five New Tablets at MWC 2021

MWC 2021 kicked off in Barcelona this week as one of the first live events to take place since the pandemic began. Lenovo has started the event off with a packed announcement including five new Android tablets.

Lenovo Launches Five New Android Tablets

Lenovo has announced five new Android tablets as part of its announcement on the first day of MWC 2021. The newly announced Android tablets range from budget devices to ones aimed for more professional use.

Lenovo’s five new tablets include the Yoga Tab 13, Yoga Tab 11, Yoga Tab P11 Plus, Yoga Tab M7 (Gen 3), and Yoga Tab M8 (Gen 3). As you can see, many of these tablets are generational updates, so don’t have the most exciting updates.

What Tablets Did Lenovo Announce?

Starting with the Yoga Tab 13, Lenovo has introduced a tablet that doubles as an external display. The Yoga Tab 13 comes with a kickstand and HDMI port for the external display functionality.

If you’re just wanting to use the device as a tablet it has 8 GB RAM, a 10,000 mAh battery, a Dolby Vision display, and the Snapdragon 870 processor. Lenovo also offers an additional stylus for the tablet, called the Precision Pen 2, which can be used in the tablet’s tilt mode for both drawing and control.

Despite the similar names, be careful not to confuse this year’s Yoga Tab P11 Plus, with Lenovo’s P11 Pro from last year. The Yoga Tabs 11 and P11 Plus are upgrades to previous tablets, with slightly refreshed specs.

Both tablets have a 7,500 mAh battery, an 11 inch display, and use the MediaTek Helio G90T processor. Tab 11 has a kickstand, while the P11 Plus does not, and both will have storage configurations up to 8 GB/256 GB and support for the Precision Pen 2.

Both the new M7 and M8 tablets are Lenovo’s third generation update, and are aimed at kids with support for Google Kids Space. The M7 use the MediaTek MT8166 processor, and the M8 uses the MediaTek Helio P22T. Both devices pack a 5,100 mAh battery, but the M8 has a bigger screen at 8 inches rather than 7 on the M7.

Lenovo hasn’t announced pricing or availability for any of the new tablets. Based on Lenovo’s previous announcements and what makes sense, it seems likely they’ll be available within the next few months and range from $70 to $250.

Lenovo Kicking MWC 2021 Off With a Bang

Five new Android tablets is quite a sizeable announcement for Lenovo to make, and kicks off MWC 2021 with a bang. Although many of the devices are updates to previous iterations, it’s still nice to see some new features included as well.
