Samsung has been rather busy lately. It seems like the company is releasing a new phone every other week, and that momentum is going to keep going as it just announced that it is launching the Galaxy M62 globally, as reported by 9To5Google.
It’s not technically a new phone, as it already existed in India as the Galaxy F62. However, for anyone outside of India, this is a new mid-range phone, and that’s something worth getting excited about.
What’s Up With the Galaxy M62?
Samsung didn’t officially announce the specs for the Galaxy M62. Instead, the company only put up some renders of the device, which leads us to believe that the phone is a rebranded Galaxy F62.
We learned through Samsung’s Malaysian retail partner Lazada that the phone comes with a massive 7000mAh battery. This lends further credence to it being a rebranded F62, as that phone featured the same gigantic battery under the hood.
If everything else remains unchanged, we can assume quite a bit more about the phone’s specs. The Samsung Galaxy F62 featured the Exynos 9825 chipset under-the-hood. It also came in a couple of different RAM configurations. Buyers were able to choose between a 6GB and 8GB configuration, with the latter selling for a little more than the former.
With that in mind, we’d expect to see the same specs kept in place for the M62 when Samsung officially announces it.
Further making us think this newly-revealed M62 is an F62 rebrand is the color options. Laser Blue, Laser Gray, and Laser Green colors were shown off in the official renders, the same options available for the F62.
Based on the F62 receiving it, we’re hopeful that the Galaxy M62 will also receive One UI 3.1 and all the incredible features that come along with it.
Galaxy M62 Price and Availablity
While we don’t know for sure where the phone will come out, we do expect it to be a relatively global launch. Obviously, it’s going to come out in Malaysia since Lazada already has it listed. In fact, the retailer even says that it’ll come out on March 3. We won’t know when it’ll come out in other regions or which regions it’ll come to until Samsung makes an official announcement.
As far as the price, we can estimate based on the price of the F62 in India. That phone sold for INR 23,999, which is about $331. We’d assume the new Galaxy M62 will sell for around the same price.
